Exhale | St. Anthony North Hospital, Westminster, CO

“Exhale” is a commissioned kiln glass piece by TX artist, Carmella Jarvi.

Noyes Art Designs reached out to Jarvi in early 2024 to create a lobby piece for the new entrance to CommonSpirit Health’s St. Anthony Hospital in Westminster, CO.

When the artist relocated from Charlotte, NC to the TX Hill Country (with her artist husband, Chris Craft), the criteria for their new home/studios was to be near water and close to a larger kiln glass facility. Canyon Lake checked all the boxes.

Thanks to Silo Gallery + Studios [which is right outside of Wimberley, TX and — at 4000 sq. ft. — is the largest purpose built warm glass studio in Central TX], Jarvi was able to complete this latest healthcare art piece when they needed it.

This arrangement offers flexibility and opportunity for her to work on multiple projects in her smaller glass studio while having access to several extra large kilns and great cold working equipment! (Plus, it’s a beautiful drive through TX Hill Country to boot!)

Hospitals are complex hubs where the physical, emotional and spiritual are deeply intertwined.

No matter who and what you are going through, we are all connected through life… and breath… and spirit.

“Exhale” might be a literal reminder… or a nod to water, field of grasses… or a sweet memory of a time in nature… or maybe the comfort of the Creator holding you as you exhale into a moment of peace.

“Exhale” Detail…

Fun to note this was Jarvi’s first time working with a stone tile wall. And, like much of her healthcare work, she played with the clear/translucent glass edges so that the wall is integral part of the piece.
