Jarvi’s work is inspired by water. These were created with soothing, soft blues — in a simplified composition, as well as her turquoise blue glass. The artist uses multiple firings, and the kiln heat (and gravity) moving the glass until she is happy. For many years, she painted water. During her 2010 McColl Center residency, Jarvi began exploring abstract water.
